This is a rather old manga that I first read growing up. I really enjoyed it then and now and can't wait for it to be finished scanlating into english (originally read it in Thai and don't have access to the old ones I read when a kid). Yawara is a pretty normal traditional Japanese girl, except that she's really good in Judo. Some people may get annoyed by her old school stereotypical Japanese girl persona, but at least she doesn't fall into the type cast of bubbly, energetic, good hearted but kinda dumb [read - annoying] mold.
