I have been stuck on this manga for a few weeks now and its amazing. As far a i know this is based of actual events, im sure there exaggerated or misconstrued for the manga but whatever. I plan on buying the book this manga was based off because i found the history behind it enthralling. I've read Gamaran which made this manga better because in Gamaran the main bad is trying to become like Mushasi in the way that they want to develop a new style and get away from the strict samurai culture.
I will admit it is sometimes hard to remember all the (read more)

This is one of the best manga I have read, it has cool sword fights and a excellent story line, it is realistic but some times confusing when switching charters. I definitely recommend it, although I am not sure if the manga is over or not because the last chapter uploaded did not end the story (if anyone knows the details PM please).

This Manga started off weird, but the animation kept me going. And before I realized it, I was caught in the story of Musashi and his epic journey into becoming the strongest warrior in the series. There is no end to the blood in this Manga, and these pages are filled with those who put their life on the line in order to stay true to the way of the Warrior. I was hoping some people would continue to live, but that is not the way of life. Enjoy this Manga!

I do my best not to be biased but it's very hard when reading something as amazing as this.

The story line is based on a true story from that time in Japan which makes it really interesting to begin with that someone lived like that. Of course it is probably exaggerated on some parts though.

The drawing is immense especially the water colour painting pages he has done several chapters. Even the non water coloured ones are outstanding, his art has only increase throughout the manga you can see it kept on improving in time.

There's a reason Inoue is hailed as one of the best manga-ka of our time, and that reason is Vagabond.

The tale follows the life and times of one Miyamoto Musashi, the legendary samurai who authored The Book of the Five Rings. But rather than deifying this hero of Japanese history, Inoue shows the very human side of this warrior; his development from a green fighter on the battlefield of Sekigahara, his relationships with his fellow warriors and childhood friends, his fierce commitment to become stronger and eradicate all weakness within. Its awesome in every aspect, for those of you who are interested in a cool sword manga, this is it. But prepare for a little bit of confusion here and then, and long term training sessions.
