Planetes was one of those manga I stumbled upon at the library one day while on a raging book-binge. I added it to my stack of thirty-some-odd volumes, trotted out the door, and didn't really give it a second thought until I got home. Boy, was I in for a treat... ^_^

The story concerns a young man who, along with a ragtag crew stuck in orbit above Earth, are tasked with cleaning up hazardous space debris, so as to make passage through the upper atmosphere safe for larger vessels. Our protagonist has bigger dreams, though - he wants to be part (read more)
