The story of Drifters takes place during Japan's Sengoku period (roughly 15th to 17th century), a time of constant warring between the island's states, and a natural setting of choice for samurai stories. A young samurai on verge of death suddenly finds himself into another, fantastic world, alongside important military figures from history. How? Why? These questions remain unanswered.

I have been wanting to read this manga for a long time, glad to be able to now. The plot is very interesting, moves along very smoothly. Kouta Hirano-dono's artwork is action-packed, dark, bold, shady, and well executed for this type of genre! I do not want to spoil anything for the readers, but this is a must-read. Currently, entering chapter 17 and expecting more intensity to follow.

A short Drifters anime trailer came out some time ago and really captured the manga experience. I hope Kouta Hirano-dono is able to produce, at least, one complete (read more)

A really great story once it gets rolling. Although the word drifter keeps getting tossed around it doesn't distract too badly from the main objective of the storyline. I would highly recommend this for any action fans.

Like Hellsing? Then you'll probably love into this historically-driven, awesomely illustrated gorefest by the very same mangaka. It's unexpectedly funny, dark, and has the twisted, cool character designs expected of Kohta Hirano. Plus, come on, the cameos are so awesome. I can't wait to see who shows up next and where the story heads.

Despite it being said its completed it isn't. Trilling full of plenty of action, its something I would expect from author of Hellsing.

The gore, the blood, the strategic moves, the maniacal smiles, aa they are so nice to watch. Warmongers this is a manga for you. Can hardly wait for this manga to be finished, even thought it seams it is at the start.
This manga is all about famous people from history that at the time of there death are actually transported to another dimension were they inevitably join forces to stop a great evil force from destroying this new world were they are. The main characters are 3 famous Japanese people all with considerable skill in one part of war. (read more)

From the creator of Hellsing, Hirano Kouta brings us another story with oodles of blood. The arts the same and the comedy is typical of Hirano but his sadism is always appreciated. The characters seems to have transfered over from Hellsing to drifters with Shimazu Toyohisa being Alucard (although this version is far kinder and a little dumb) and Oda Nobunaga as Integra Hellsing and Olmine/Shem OmniNipples as Seris Victoria. However even with the similarities Drifters is a kick ass story.
