Summary:
Ichigo Kurosaki has always been able to see ghosts, but this ability doesn't change his life nearly as much as his close encounter with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper and member of the mysterious Soul Society. While fighting a Hollow, an evil spirit that preys on humans who display psychic energy, Rukia attempts to lend Ichigo some of her powers so that he can save his family, but much to her surprise, Ichigo absorbs every last drop of her energy. Now a full-fledged Soul Reaper himself, Ichigo quickly learns that the world he inhabits is one full of dangerous spirits, and along with Rukia, who is slowly regaining her powers, it's Ichigo's job to both protect the innocent from Hollows and to help the spirits themselves find peace.

Won the 50th Shogakukan Manga Award in the Shounen category.

You can't criticise people for giving a poor review of something, if someone didn't like something they have the right to voice that view, it's their opinion. There is a system in place that averages out reviews to give a fair representation of the popular opinion because of this. Although I will take the time to say that reviews based solely on the lessening quality is equally a silly enough review. The reviews posted should take account of the whole thing and take note of the good with the bad and reach a compromise of the two, much rather than giving 1 star because you liked the first several arcs but disliked the last two or whatever.

Personally I've enjoyed Bleach throughout. As far as action manga go this one is definitely one of my favourites, the storyline has many detractors but is solid and flows well enough to make you care about the characters, develop favourites and care about the outcome of the next conflict. The action scenes themselves are relatively well paced and delievered well with antagonists who have goals and motives without simply being a shallow entity. It also manages to encorporate humour throughout that should at least bring the odd smile here and there. There are twists at key times that will surprise you but likewise there are some rather cliché elements to it as with nearly any manga or creative piece. The artwork is very well done, the characters being detailed and suiting the Shonen genre and melding well with the action scenes.

The storyline's main problem as far as I have ever seen is simply that it started off so well that anything that came after it would almost definitely be overshadowed, but is still as far as I can see, definitely worth reading at least a little to see if it's your thing.
